Still
Confused About this opportunity
"I've read the statistics,
I have an interest in the Mobile Dry Cleaner Success Program, but how do I know this is the
business for me? ..."What is my job and what's in it for me?" In
the final chapter of the Mobile Dry Cleaning Manual, both
questions are answered. Using actual sales figures from a
Pennsylvania Mobile Dry Cleaner, you are shown how a nine (9)
hour work week yields $447.84 weekly income or $23,387.68
annually and what the route operator had to do to earn that
money. Here is a portion of that discussion:
What
Can I expect Financially as a
Mobile Dry Cleaning Operator
 |
Look in the
window of your local drycleaner and see the completed
orders waiting for pick-up. Walk around the block,
go to the next shopping center or drive for a half mile
to the next drycleaner and look in their windows. There
may be three or more |
| drycleaners
in the area and all have completed orders hanging on the
garment conveyor racks, more clothes in baskets waiting
to be processed, and more hanging in the production area
already in process. Actual figures will be higher,
but for estimating purposes, guesstimate about $1.00 for
every shirt you see and $2.00 for every drycleaned
garment. That's a lot of money and the business repeats
itself every week. Look what you can you do as a
Mobile Dry Cleaner! |
A distinctive
advantage of The Mobile Dry Cleaning Business is
the elimination of hanging inventory. You deliver the order to
the customer as soon as it is completed and collect your money
immediately. No holding onto finished orders waiting for
the customer to pick them up.
Approximately 10% to 20% of
the orders you see in a dry cleaning store may never be picked
up. Customers forget them, perhaps they gained weight and
can no longer wear that particular garment, perhaps the garment
is out of style and the customer doesn't want to have to pay for
something they will never wear again. Many reasons
contribute to garments remaining on the dry cleaners rack. But,
the fact remains, these
unclaimed orders are lost revenues.
As a Mobile Dry
Cleaner, you deliver the garment to the customer. and are
paid upon delivery. It is rare that a customer will refuse to
pay for completed work when presented with the order. the
majority of your orders turn over in three days, the remainder
within a week and the proceeds are received in cash.

·
Approximately forty-eight customers were served and twelve households
prospected during a 4½-hour
period. Varying workloads and traffic conditions will have a direct effect on
this time schedule, but the time quoted is an accurate average.
·
The Dry Cleaner’s statistics
reveal that each ticket written, both dry cleaning and laundry, averages three
garments (Pcs/Tick) for both Tables.
·
The
average revenue per piece for dry cleaning was $7.81 and $6.75 respectively.
Laundry revenue was consistent at $1.82-1.81. (Individual figures may vary depending on pricing
policies.)
·
The revenue per ticket
(Rev/Tick) was $25.42 for Table I versus $20.25 for Table II. Laundry
revenue was similar during both periods at approximately $5.30.
·
Eighty-six (86) orders
totaling $1714.80 were recorded for Table I and fifty-three
(53) orders totaling $908.52 for Table II. (For processing purposes,
drycleaning orders and
laundry orders are listed on separate receipts;
consequently, one customer may have more than one order resulting in a greater
number of orders written than customers served.)
Using the illustrated sales

income:

Averaging sales
for both periods yields $49.76 profit
per hour, $447.84 for a 9-hour workweek, or
$23,387.68 annually working part-time two days a week.
Aggressively
marketing supplemental services, such as, tailoring services, leather
cleaning, wedding gown cleaning and preservation or those listed in the Mobile
Dry Cleaning Manual, could increase profits an additional 25% or more
returning $62.20 /hr. or $29,109.60 annually.
The
preceding statistics are actual records of an existing Mobile Dry
Cleaning Business. They are not represented as a guarantee of what you
will achieve, but an example of what one particular Mobile Dry Cleaning
Business has accomplished. Individual effort, pricing policies, marketing
techniques, and markets may vary and affect actual results.
