Stop Thinking About It and Just Do It

So you want to start your own business! You have no or little experience yet you want someone to finance you. Let's face it, unless you have family or friends who have 100% faith in you and your ability to pay back your debt, there really isn't much of a chance that you will find the money you need.  So what can you do?

You can start by servicing your family or your wife's or mother's friends.  Then add a friend of one of your customers, then find another friend of a family member or of an existing customer.  Ask them to refer you to another and then have that customer refer you to someone they know and so on and so on. You've most likely seen the TV ad, "tell two people and each can tell two people and they each can tell two people, etc."  All of a sudden 100 people have been told and overnight you have a viable business going and are in no debt to anyone.

This may sound easy and it is, but you have to be persistent. Talk to people.  Talk to the local businesses you patronize.  If you belong to a church or social organization talk to other members. Talk about what you are trying to do and how you can be of service to them. Talk about your new undertaking. Ask if they will recommend another who may want your service and if can you use their name as a reference.  Not everyone will respond favorably, but you should get enough positive feedback that the effort will be very rewarding and you will get that start you needed. All without expensive advertising and within a relatively short time.

Then you can add employees, increase your marketing areas, build up your sales and your sales force all from the same premise.  Have two customers tell two of their friends and so on and so on.
